Is North Cyprus a Safe Place to Live?

Yesterday, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation.

While I didn’t attend the celebrations due to my work on a custom house building project, it was an event worth seeing.

The biggest military parade took place, attended by Turkey’s President Erdogan, showcasing warships and jet planes across Kyrenia.

Now, addressing the subject at hand—safety in North Cyprus.

The island has three guarantor countries: the UK, Greece, and Turkey, all NATO members.

Additionally, Greece is part of the EU.

The island hosts three national bases, with the UK having sovereign bases in Akrotiri and Dhekelia.

With the influence of these powerful nations, any threat to North Cyprus would be met with a formidable response from NATO.

The only recent concern has come from Hezbollah, due to the use of UK bases for operations in Gaza, which has raised concerns among Greek Cypriots.
